Rotating Relativistic Thin Disks

چکیده
Two families of models of rotating relativistic disks based on TaubNUT and Kerr metrics are constructed using the well-known “displace, cut and reflect” method. We find that for disks built from a generic stationary axially symmetric metric the “sound velocity”, (pressure/density)1/2, is equal to the geometric mean of the prograde and retrograde geodesic circular velocities of test particles moving on the disk. We also found that for generic disks we can have zones with heat flow. For the two families of models studied the boundaries that separate the zones with and without heat flow are not stable against radial perturbations (ring formation). Calculation of the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of relativistic accretion flows in the Kerr metric.
In this paper, we calculate the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of the relativistic accretion ows in the Kerr metric, overall and without any approximation. We obtain the relations of all components of the relativistic bulk and shear tensor in terms of components of four-velocity and its derivatives, Christoffel symbols and metric components in the BLF. Then, these components are deri...
متن کاملExact General Relativistic Rotating Disks Immersed in Rotating Dust Generated from van Stockum Solutions
A class of exact general relativistic rotating thick disks surrounded by rotating dust is constructed by applying the “displace, cut, fill and reflect” method on the van Stockum class of metrics. Two particular solutions are considered in detail. We find that the disks have annular regions with negative energy density and heat flow is present in most of the radial extension of the disk. It is s...
متن کاملRelativistic Static Thin Disks with Radial Stress Support
New solutions for static non-rotating thin disks of finite radius with nonzero radial stress are studied. A method to introduce either radial pressure or radial tension is presented. The method is based on the use of conformal transformations. PACS numbers: 04.20.Jb, 98.62.Hr, 02.30.Em
متن کاملRelativistic Static Thin Disks: The Counter-Rotating Model
A detailed study of the Counter-Rotating Model (CRM) for generic finite static axially symmetric thin disks with nonzero radial pressure is presented. We find a general constraint over the counter-rotating tangential velocities needed to cast the surface energy-momentum tensor of the disk as the superposition of two counter-rotating perfect fluids. We also found expressions for the energy densi...
متن کاملRotating Relativistic Thin Disks as Sources of the Taub-NUT Solution
Rotating disks with nonzero radial pressure and finite radius are studied. The models are based in the Taub-NUT metric and constructed using the well-known “displace, cut and reflect” method. We find that the disks are made of perfect fluids with constant energy density and pressure. The energy density is negative, but the effective Newotnian density is possitive as the strong energy condition ...
